The Illinois Department of Ag (IDOA) is partnering with agriculture industry groups to facilitate statewide, classroom training to help certified applicators comply with new label requirements for products containing dicamba. Dicamba is the active ingredient in three USEPA-approved herbicides to manage difficult weeds in soybean fields.

The nearest training for our area is scheduled for...

Tuesday, February 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the First Christian Church in Fairfield, IL (100 W. Center St., on Route 45, two blocks south of Route 15. Note: This program will include a meal at 5:30 p.m.)

Register for this training and others at www.ifca.com/illinoisdicambatraining. Scroll down until you find the training location of your choice. The class schedule, frequently asked questions (see related article), and other helpful resources are also available on the site.

Illinois has over 15,000 licensed agriculture pesticide applicators that could potentially use these herbicides in 2018, so the scope of the training effort is significant. Those completing the training receive a certificate, which will assist the applicator in meeting one of the new recordkeeping requirements included on the product labels for 2018.
