First ever tie at the Young Leader Golf Scramble

Competitive golfers came ready to play during the 5th Annual Young Leader Golf Scramble held Saturday, July 27 at the Wayne County Golf Course in Fairfield, IL. 13 teams participated in this year's event, supported by 28 sponsors.
Two teams tied the scramble for first place. Congratulations go out to the team of Larry Odum, Richard Scott, Brad Bryan, Eldon Doty as well as the team of T.J. Vaughan, Troy Link, Andy Vaughan, Stephen Ellis. Each team finished with a score of 57. The teams won four Cardinals tickets, donated by Roark Trucking of Carmi and the Young Leader Committee.
The Bent Club Award went to the McLean Implement team of Adam Bunting, Johnny Hatcher, Dennis Bayless, and Chris Rusell. Each member of the team will receive a free round of golf. Allen Wilson was the golfer who hit closest to the pin on Hole #2. Eldon Doty took the honors of the longest putt on Hole #13. Troy Link hit the longest drive on Hole #16. Each individual won $75 cash.
Nobody hit the Hole-in-One on #17 to win a John Deere Gator XUV 825i. The Hole-in-One prize was sponsored by McLean Implement.
T.J. Vaughan won $60.00 in the 50/50 drawing, which he graciously donated back to the Young Leader Committee.
Kent Nale’s name was drawn for a free year of membership to the Wayne County Golf Course. The Young Leader Committee would like to thank Doug Musgrave and the Wayne County Golf Course for sponsoring this drawing.
The funds raised from this year’s golf scramble will support Young Leader programming including the annual collegiate scholarship, the Progressive Agriculture Safety Day program, and participation in Illinois Farm Bureau Young Leader activities. $2,500 was raised from the event.
