2nd annual Howl Event raises funds for Young Leaders
March 18, 2019
Wayne County was “howlin” this past weekend as a generous crowd packed the Fairfield Elks for the 2019 Howl at the Moon Dueling Piano Concert. The event was organized by the Wayne County Farm Bureau as a fundraiser for their Young Leader Committee and their Foundation.
The two-night event was held Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16 and drew a total crowd of 425 people. Four performers with the Howl at the Moon road show, “Howl2Go” traveled from Chicago, St. Louis, Indianapolis, and Cincinnati to put on the 3 1/2 hour show each night, which included two “dueling pianos”, drums, and a guitar. People would request songs by offering a tip with their request; the bigger the tip the more likely the song was played. 100% of the tips went back to support the Young Leaders and the Foundation.
“We truly appreciate the support from the Wayne County community for this event,” commented Doug Anderson, Manager of the Wayne County Farm Bureau. “The Howl Event was such a huge success last year, that we had to bring it back again for 2019. We are grateful for the sponsor support, our partnership with the Fairfield Elks, as well as to the Wayne County community for coming out to support our Foundation and Young Leader Committee. We’ve received a lot of positive feedback from those who attended, expressing their appreciation for bringing such a unique entertainment experience to our local area.”
Event Sponsors for the 2019 Howl at the Moon event were Country Financial Agency Manager Jim Hughes, Country Financial Representative Alex Atwood, Fairfield National Bank, Citizens National Bank, Carnaby Square, Peoples National Bank, Fairfield Banking Company, Zurliene Enterprises, Fairfield Memorial Hospital, Vaughan Diesel Repair, Gill Excavating, and Vaughan Automotive.
The Young Leader Committee is a group of individuals ages 18 to 35 that work to support agricultural education, leadership development, and safety programming.
