The Wayne County Farm Bureau Foundation is pleased to offer six, $500 scholarships to Wayne County youth who plan on majoring in an ag-related field of study for the fall 2013 semester.
In addition to the Foundation scholarships, the Young Leader Committee will be awarding one, $500 scholarship.  The qualifications for the Young Leader Scholarship are the same as the Foundation scholarship.  Students can apply for both the Foundation and Young Leader Scholarship using the same application.  Applications can also be requested by email or in hard copy format.
The Foundation was established by the Wayne County Farm Bureau in 2004.  It provides the legal means to accept direct donations from individuals and businesses to help fund the scholarship program.
“The mission of the Foundation is ‘Growing the future of agriculture by supporting the youth of today,’” noted Doug Anderson, Manager of the Wayne County Farm Bureau and its Foundation.  “We hope our members and the public will see the Foundation as a way they can help support the future of our youth through donations and memorials.”
Applications are due on March 31, 2013 with notification of the awards to be made during the high school awards ceremonies.
